Tracker donates R590 000 for holiday meals

This year has been truly challenging, with many South Africans in dire straits due to the negative impact of the lockdown. As a gesture of goodwill, Tracker will be extending a helping hand to families in need in the communities and regions in which the company operates.

Since the company is still observing social distancing with most employees still working from home, Tracker staff decided to forego the annual departmental year end functions. Instead, Tracker will use the R590 000 budgeted for these gatherings to provide meals for those less fortunate this festive season.

The Tracker monetary donation has been provided to NGO Food Forward SA. Their foodbank model will ensure that the contribution will fund 694 118 meals for those most deserving.

As further contribution, Tracker teams visited the Food Forward SA warehouses in Johannesburg and Cape Town to help with packing boxes of groceries, which will be delivered to beneficiaries in time for the holidays.

“What better way for us to live our brand promise of ‘To care is to protect’, than to do something for those who are less fortunate than we are?” says Grace Dipale, Tracker SA Executive: Human Capital. “We hope that this donation will bring festive cheer to those families that need it most.”
