SWIFT appoints female Chief Technology Officer

In light of Women’s Month,Cheri McGuire has been appointed as the Chief Technology Officer at SWIFT.As CTO, she will oversee all aspects of the platform, network, cloud capabilities and security, with a focus on resilience, trust and innovation.

Cheri brings more than 30 years of experience in strategy, policy, and operations, spanning the financial, software, consulting and government sectors. Previously, she was Managing Director and Group Chief Information Security Officer for Standard Chartered PLC in London, and held senior roles at Microsoft, Symantec, US Department of Homeland Security and Booz Allen Hamilton.

“I am excited to join SWIFT at such a pivotal time as it is re-tooling cross-border infrastructure and fundamentally transforming payments and securities. I look forward to working with Javier, the rest of the SWIFT team and SWIFT’s member institutions, as we help to drive the future of cross-border financial transaction management,” said McGuire.
