TATA Motors Passenger Vehicles (TMPV) marked a significant milestone with the arrival of its first shipment of passenger vehicles at the Durban Port, signalling the brand’s official return to the South African automotive market.
This shipment, which includes the Tiago, Punch, Curvv, and Harrier models, signals not only Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles ‘ renewed presence in the country but also its confidence in South Africa’s economic potential and the strength of its automotive sector. The vehicles will be distributed to dealerships nationwide, with sales expected to start from September.
The shipment, which includes Tata’s latest models designed for reliability, safety and affordability, demonstrates Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles’ commitment to providing South Africans with quality mobility solutions backed by strengthened after-sales support and parts availability.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony provided visuals of the vehicles being offloaded and featured comments from dignitaries from Tata Motors and Transnet in attendance.
