CILTSA Hosts Women Empowerment Webinar

CILTSA will mark International Women’s Day with a focused online event aimed at strengthening leadership, collaboration and inclusion across transport, logistics and supply chains.

The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport: South Africa (CILTSA) will host its 90-minute virtual session titled “Give | Gain | Grow: Stronger Together” on Saturday, 7 March, as part of its ongoing Women Empowerment focus.

The initiative forms part of a broader strategy to advance professional growth and leadership opportunities for women in the transport, logistics and supply chain sectors — industries traditionally dominated by men but undergoing rapid transformation.

The webinar will bring together senior industry leaders to explore how collaboration, mentorship and structured support can drive measurable progress in operational performance and sector sustainability.

“This event is a vital platform for fostering the collaboration needed to drive our industry forward,” says Shevon Kotiah CMILT, Brand Ambassador for CILTSA. “By creating a space where women can share expertise and resources, we aren’t just empowering individuals; we are strengthening the entire logistics, transport and supply chain ecosystem.”

The discussion will emphasise the concept of a “circular economy of support,” encouraging knowledge-sharing, access to opportunity and leadership development across professional networks.

Speakers include Lebo Rakgekola, Department Executive: Sales (LCV & SUV) at Isuzu; Samantha Ferreira, Senior Product Manager, Video at Powerfleet; and Maserati Ramokadi, Transport and Logistics Analyst at Absa. The session will be facilitated by Lebo Letsoalo CMILT, Founder of Sincpoint and the African Women in Supply Chain Association.

Key focus areas include mentorship and leadership development, the business case for inclusion, economic empowerment for women-owned enterprises, and strategies for systemic change within industry structures.

“Our goal is to move from conversation to action,” says Kotiah. “By giving access and support, we gain a stronger industry, allowing every professional to grow.”

The webinar serves as a precursor to CILTSA’s annual Women in Transport, Logistics and Supply Chain Conference scheduled for 18 September, now entering its fifth year.

The event will conclude with a collective pledge encouraging participants to commit to at least one action in support of women across the sector during March.
