Albany Self Love Masterclass promotes wellness, health and self love

While physical health is one of the most important components in leading a long and healthy life, it can also be used  to sustain a well balanced lifestyle. When lifestyle and health improves,  one will inevitably experience less disease and sickness in their lifetime.

It is therefore pivotal that alongside physical health one also takes into account their health from a mental, emotional and spiritual perspective.

This was the ideology that inspired Albany bakeries to  host their very first a Self Love Masterclass this women’s month at Toadbury Hall in Lanseria. The masterclass which was facilitated by celebrity brand ambassador  Dj Zinhle, was one of the ways in which the brand wanted to help empower women about wellness using a Low GI lifestyle. A number of ladies were invited to attend a seven hour experience that included a yoga session, meditation session and a cooking class which hoped to equip participants with sustainable tools to achieve balanced lives.

According to dietitians a Low GI lifestyle offers various health advantages. Lowering glycemic index  may reduce the risk of developing diabetes and metabolic syndrome. In addition to this, low glycemic index carbs produce a solid and substantial rise in blood sugar, and the fiber in these foods will help people feel satisfied for longer which will ultimately  decrease overeating which can later lead to obesity.

Although Albany Wellness Day was rooted in the importance of a Low GI lifestyle , the campaign went a step further teaching the invited guests key methods on how to lead a healthier lifestyle through using holistic methods which were rooted in self love and having a positive self image.

The day ended with a garden lunch which saw DJ Zinhle together with Albany Bakeries, local influencers, members of the media as well as selected Albany fans break bread and share their experiences from the activities of the day with each other.
