Turn.io hosts workshop for social impact businesses and NPO’s

Turn.io  recently presented the Change for Social Impact Workshop at Jozihub, Milpark on the 29th of November 2019. The social platform was developed within Praekelt.org to reduce the cost and sustainability of large-scale SMS programs such as MomConnect. Turn.io supports mobile technology to solve some of the world’s largest social problems and deliver essential information and services to improve the health and wellbeing of more than 100 million people in over 65 countries.

The first part of the workshop included an opening speech by Gustav Praekelt, Founder and chairman   Director of Praekelt.org who kick-started the event which a short introduction. The second part of the workshop was facilitated by Neelke Stadler, a Data Scientist from Turn.io where she mentioned the benefits of joining the platform and explained how organizations can use large scale messaging platforms like Whats App to scale messages to customers and users.

In 2017, Turn.io partnered with WhatsApp and enabled MomConnect to send their audience WhatsApp messages at a large scale using the WhatsApp Business API. The introduction of WhatsApp resulted in an explosion of engagement.

According to Stadler “Turn.io is a platform which allows audiences to connect and have thoughtful guided conversations”. She added that the platform also has simple tools that can be easily used which can help you to be efficient, organized and learn how to prioritize.
