Cynthia Dumakude Crowned Ms Transcontinental 2026

Africa is celebrating a proud moment after Cynthia Dumakude, Resort Marketing Manager at Wild Coast Sun, was crowned Ms Transcontinental 2026 after representing the continent at the international pageant in the United States.

Dumakude’s rise to the global stage is rooted in purpose. Her journey began with her Mrs Bold 2024 title, a platform she used to champion women’s empowerment and community upliftment. During her reign, she led and supported initiatives ranging from Easter and winter warmth drives to school shoe donations, dignity packs, wheelchair donations and youth-focused empowerment programmes, translating visibility into tangible social impact.

Now carrying an international crown, Dumakude continues to embody resilience, authenticity and leadership — values that align closely with both Sun International and Wild Coast Sun. With more than a decade of marketing experience, she applied her professional expertise to her pageant journey, intentionally building a strong, purpose-driven personal brand through consistent storytelling, community engagement and strategic social media presence.

These skills, sharpened on the international stage, now add depth to her role at Wild Coast Sun, offering fresh insights into brand authenticity, consistency and purpose-led content that support Sun International’s broader marketing vision.

From growing up in a rural village to achieving international recognition, Dumakude’s story is one of discipline, vision and perseverance. As a single mother, her success resonates deeply, standing as a symbol of hope and possibility for women and young girls across South Africa and beyond.

“This win is not just for me, it’s for every woman who has ever doubted her strength,” says Dumakude. “I’m honoured to represent Africa and to bring this story home to my Wild Coast Sun family.”

Wild Coast Sun General Manager Tshegetso Boekhouer described Dumakude’s achievement as a reflection of dedication and passion, while Sun International Chief Marketing Officer Helen Stewart highlighted her discipline, leadership and mastery of authentic branding as qualities that mirror the group’s commitment to excellence.

Grateful for the support of her colleagues, leadership, community partners and sponsors, Dumakude remains focused on using her platform for good. “Our stories matter not because they are perfect, but because they show what is possible when we refuse to give up,” she says. “This is only the beginning, and I am committed to uplifting, empowering and inspiring wherever I go.”
