JA South Africa Strengthens Leadership Team

JA South Africa has strengthened its leadership with two influential board appointments aimed at expanding youth empowerment, education opportunities and future workforce development initiatives.

JA South Africa has announced the appointment of Kamini Redhi and Nthatisi Quella to its Board of Directors as the organisation continues to grow its impact across South Africa.

The appointments represent an important milestone for the youth development organisation, which focuses on entrepreneurship, financial literacy and work readiness programmes that help prepare young people for the future economy.

JA South Africa Chairperson Zodwa Pakade said both leaders bring extensive experience, strategic insight and a shared commitment to empowering young people.

“We are honoured to welcome Kamini and Nthatisi to the JA South Africa Board. Both leaders bring exceptional experience, strategic insight and a shared passion for empowering young people,” said Pakade.

Kamini Redhi currently serves as Vice President of Marketing and Communications for Africa at Mastercard. Based in Johannesburg, she leads strategic marketing and communications initiatives across the continent.

Her career includes leadership roles at global brands such as Coca-Cola, Unilever, Estée Lauder Companies and Nielsen, where she developed expertise in brand strategy, innovation, consumer engagement and commercial growth.

Joining her on the board is Nthatisi Quella, Africa Office Director at the Harvard University Center for African Studies. She oversees Harvard’s partnerships and programme portfolio across Africa, working at the intersection of education, leadership development and institutional innovation.

With more than two decades of experience across education systems in Lesotho, South Africa and the United States, Quella has built a strong track record in strategy execution, stakeholder engagement and educational transformation.

Her work has focused on expanding access to quality learning opportunities for African students and strengthening leadership pathways across the continent.

In 2025, JA South Africa reached more than 120,000 young South Africans through programmes focused on entrepreneurship, financial literacy, project management and workplace readiness.

Through partnerships with the Department of Basic Education and the expansion of digital learning initiatives, the organisation continues to extend its reach to both in-school and out-of-school youth.

The appointments of Redhi and Quella reflect JA South Africa’s ongoing commitment to innovation, collaboration and strong leadership as it works to create greater opportunities for young people across Africa.
