CILTSA is offering women in logistics and supply chain sectors an opportunity to gain internationally recognised qualifications through a fully funded candidacy programme.
The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport South Africa (CILTSA) has opened applications for its 2026/2027 Women’s Candidacy Programme aimed at empowering women working across logistics, transport, warehousing and supply chain sectors.
The programme will support 15 women through a fully funded professional development pathway that includes both an internationally recognised qualification and professional designation opportunities.
Funded by the Transport Education and Training Authority (TETA), the initiative leads to the CILT Level 5 International Diploma in Logistics and Transport.
Delivered in partnership with Commerce Edge and Alto Training, the programme combines online learning, workplace experiential training, practical assignments, mentorship and logbook completion over a 12-month period from July 2026 to July 2027.
Successful participants will receive one year of full CILTSA membership, exposure to global industry best practices and access to internationally recognised professional designation pathways.
All programme costs, including tuition, assessments, certification and graduation expenses, are fully covered through the TETA grant, while Commerce Edge has also approved an additional bursary for one more participant.
CILTSA President Elvin Harris said the initiative represents a direct investment in women already contributing to the sector.
“By equipping them with an internationally recognised qualification and a pathway to professional designation, we are helping to build the next generation of logistics and supply chain leaders in South Africa,” he said.
Former participants described the programme as both practical and career-changing.
Martina Mothapo, Senior Finance and Operations Manager at EcoPlanet Bamboo, said the experience strengthened her leadership confidence and practical understanding of logistics systems and operational management.
Yayeri Nalumansi, a Private Sector Development Specialist, said the programme helped bridge the gap between theory and industry application while expanding her professional network across multiple disciplines.
The candidacy programme is open to South African women with a Matric qualification who are currently employed in junior or middle management roles within logistics, transport, warehousing or supply chain management and who have at least five years of industry experience.
Applications close on Friday, 29 May 2026.
