Cape Town showcases innovation economy

Invest Cape Town Centre at City Hall highlights locally made products and growing industries, demonstrating how innovation, entrepreneurship and collaboration support economic growth and job creation.

A diverse range of Cape-made products is now on display at the Invest Cape Town Centre at City Hall in the CBD, showcasing the breadth of innovation and high-growth industries operating across the metro.

The product showcase follows an open call and careful selection process, highlighting the diversity of businesses contributing to Cape Town’s evolving economic landscape.

Opened in January 2024, the Invest Cape Town Centre is a multi-use space designed to act as a launchpad for economic activity, collaboration, and investor engagement.

“From providing access to resources and sector insights to hosting high-level networking and capacity-building events, the Centre is a space where local and international public and private sector roleplayers connect,” said Alderman Vos.

Since opening, the centre has hosted nearly 80 strategic engagements, including diplomat gatherings, workshops, and panel discussions, creating opportunities for knowledge sharing, partnerships, and investment discussions.

A dedicated product display area features a rotating three-month showcase of locally produced goods, demonstrating the strength of Cape Town’s entrepreneurial ecosystem and the variety of sectors driving economic growth.

The new products currently on display include:

Diamond Sparkle Detergents, a women-empowered brand producing high-quality detergents.

“These new products reflect sectors that are experiencing real growth,” said Alderman Vos. “They help tell a more complete story about investment and the broader economic ecosystem, from small businesses to larger industries, and how they connect to create opportunities.”

The Centre aims to support stronger partnerships, encourage collaboration, and unlock opportunities that contribute to job creation and economic development in Cape Town.

Businesses, city partners and organisations interested in booking the Centre for small-scale engagements, with a capacity of up to 50 people, can contact the Invest Cape Town team at info@investcapetown.com.

Businesses interested in displaying their locally produced goods can apply to participate in future product showcases. The next call for product displays will open in June 2026, with no cost to apply.
