The Ndlovu Youth Choir has embarked on a nationwide Heritage Tour, bringing a message of unity, resilience, and cultural pride to audiences across South Africa. The tour, which coincides with Heritage Month, includes stops in Groblersdal, Mbombela, Emalahleni, Potchefstroom, Rustenburg, Kimberley, Bloemfontein, and Sasolburg, before culminating in a flagship performance at the Sun Arena in Tshwane on Heritage Day.
In addition to performances, the choir will host school outreach workshops, using music and the arts to encourage cross-cultural dialogue and support youth development.
Partnership for Culture and Youth Empowerment
The tour is supported by Stellantis South Africa, the multinational automotive company behind brands such as Citroën, Opel, Jeep, and Peugeot. The partnership enables the choir to travel safely between venues while extending Stellantis’ local commitment to community engagement, diversity, and inclusion.
Speaking on the collaboration, Deidre Du Plessis, Stellantis SA’s Head of Corporate Communications, said the partnership is built on shared values: “We believe in the power of culture to connect communities and inspire change. Supporting this tour is part of our broader commitment to empowering young voices and celebrating the diversity that defines South Africa.”
From Limpopo to the World
Founded in 2009 in Limpopo, the Ndlovu Youth Choir has risen to global prominence with performances that blend traditional South African sounds with contemporary flair. While the choir has toured internationally, this initiative brings their work back home, spotlighting communities across South Africa.
“For us, the Heritage Tour is more than just a series of concerts,” said Ralf Schmitt, Director of the Ndlovu Youth Choir. “It’s about connecting with people where they live, sharing our culture, and celebrating the incredible resilience and beauty of South Africa.”
Celebrating Heritage Month Together
Audiences can expect energetic performances showcasing South Africa’s diverse musical traditions. The choir hopes the tour will inspire pride, unity, and a renewed appreciation for the country’s cultural richness.
The Ndlovu Youth Choir has invited South Africans to join the celebration in their towns and cities, saying: “If you see our vehicles on the road, come say hello. Let’s sing, dance, and celebrate who we are — together.”
