Building Cape Town, together: 5932 new home owners in Cape Town

The City’s Human Settlements teams and residents have a reason to celebrate. More than 5 900 title deeds have been delivered over the past few months as part of the City’s accelerated title deeds campaign. Read more below:

Approximately 4 000 more title deeds need to be delivered to qualifying residents across the city as part of the City’s accelerated title deed campaign. The City is making significant progress towards reaching this goal of delivering 10 000 deeds and residents are encouraged to contact the Human Settlements Call Centre to find out more.

‘As the City’s Human Settlements Directorate, we celebrate this significant milestone of delivering title deeds to qualifying beneficiaries. Our successful campaign is all about empowering communities and we are committed to doing so, one title deed at a time.

‘Our teams have been working incredibly hard over recent months and this achievement is a crucial milestone for us in the programme. We have 4 000 more title deeds to go and we are doing all we can to deliver to our residents in the coming months.

‘Title deeds have a profound impact on the lives of beneficiaries and our recent success is a testament to our commitment to assisting the communities that we serve.

‘Through our unique title deed programme, we are committed to land reform in all of our communities and we are pleased to see so many more homeowners and less state tenants. Receiving a title deed fosters economic empowerment in families and provides stability for many generations. While we celebrate with the 5 932 families that we have assisted, our work is far from over and we are ramping up our efforts to assist those remaining qualifying beneficiaries,’ said the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Human Settlements, Councillor Carl Pophaim.
