Soweto Theatre to honour Mam’ Connie Chiume with posthumous tribute

Opened on June 4, 2012, Soweto Theatre stands as a dynamic cultural hub in the heart of Soweto, Johannesburg, South Africa. Architect Lawrence Chauke’s modern and captivating design houses multiple performance spaces, including a 436-seat main auditorium, a 120-seat black box Blue Theatre, another black box, the Yellow Theatre with a maximum seating capacity of 80 pax, a multifunctional area, and an outdoor amphitheatre with a capacity of 3000.

This venue serves as a catalyst for the local arts scene, providing a platform for diverse expressions such as theatre, dance, music, and visual arts.
