Run4Good raises funds to make dreams come true

Reach for a Dream Foundation in partnership Barron will host the Barron Corporate Run4Good at Waterfall City in Johannesburg on 25 October to raise funds that will help make the dreams of children with life-threatening illnesses come true.

This social 5km running event is seeks to attract companies, clubs or just groups of friends who can form teams to run and raise money that will help give hope to these children.

“For every team that enters the Barron Corporate Run4Good, a percentage of the money will be donated to the Reach For A Dream Foundation,” says Mike Salomon, Barron Commercial Director.

The donations bring joy and hope to the children at Reach for a Dream and truly make a difference in their lives. “We are encouraging people to come run and help usmake a once-in-a-lifetime dream come true for children with life-threatening illnesses, particularly in this period leading up to the festive season when everyone could do with some cheer,” says Salomon.

“We are so privileged to be the beneficiary of the Barron Corporate Run4Good.  It is an annual event that we look forward to as a Foundation.  The money raised inspires hope for children who are fighting a life threatening illness, by making their ultimate dream, a reality.  We are so grateful for the partnership that we have with Barron and the team as they allow us this platform to positively impact many lives” Natalie Lazaris, Head of Business Development.

These are some of the most magical dreams that Reach for a Dream has helped make come true so far this year:

DREAM #1:

Awonke is six years old and was diagnosed with Nephrotic Syndrome. Awonke’s ultimate dream was to have his own little motorised car. Help us make more dreams like Awonke’s come true.

DREAM #2:

Eleven-year-old Mlungisi suffers from Bronchiectasis. We surprised him with a magical day where he flew in a helicopter. Let’s inspire hope today by making dreams like Mlungisi’s come true.

 DREAM #3:

Lethu is a bubbly young girl who is fighting for her life with B-Cell Lymphoma. She loves to play and she dreams of owning lots of toys. Let’s make dreams like Lethu’s come true.

To register for the 5-kilometre race, please log onto http://www.corporaterun4good.co.za/en/index.pnp/bookings/ or contact Desiree Sumerun on 011 880 4808. Together we can all make children’s dreams come true.
