Teacher’s Excellence Awards celebrate and honour local educators

Teachers across the Ramotshere Moiloa Local Municipality have been recognised for their dedication and impact at the recent Teacher’s Excellence Awards, supported by Zeerust Solar. The event celebrated the vital role that educators play in shaping the next generation, not only through teaching but by inspiring and encouraging learners to reach their full potential.

The awards form part of Zeerust Solar’s broader commitment to sustainable development, with a focus on education, capacity building, and community upliftment. “Educators are at the heart of community growth, guiding young minds and helping shape future opportunities. We were inspired to support this initiative as part of our commitment to acknowledging and uplifting educators whose dedication often goes unnoticed yet has a lasting impact on society,” said Qinisani Siveshe, Social Performance Manager for Zeerust Solar.

This year, 15 teachers from 10 primary and secondary schools were honoured. Recipients were selected by the Ramotshere Moiloa Local Education Office through a process aligned with the National Teachers Awards criteria. Educators were evaluated on their excellence in teaching and learning, commitment to learner development, academic success, and contributions to school communities and extracurricular activities.

One of the honourees, Mr Moremedi from Borothamadi Primary, received the Best Teacher Award. “The Teacher’s Excellence Award holds immense significance for me, both professionally and personally. It’s a powerful recognition of the critical role teachers play in shaping our society. I am humbled and inspired by this award, and I will continue to strive for excellence in my profession, making a lasting impact on the lives of my students and the community at large,” he said.

Through initiatives like these, Zeerust Solar has reaffirmed its long-term commitment to education. The company has pledged to continue identifying and supporting opportunities that ensure programmes such as the Teacher’s Excellence Awards deliver lasting and meaningful impact within the community.
