Remy Martin SA invests in local musical talent

According CSI consulting agency , Trialogue, companies spent an estimated R9.7bn on corporate social investment (CSI) in South Africa in 2018. Research further shows that the bulk of this investment went into education and health and very little was invested in arts and culture in comparison.

This statistic has been challenged by alcohol beverage company Remy Martin as they begin their hunt for the best music producers in South Africa. The Remy Martin producer series was launched earlier this month and announced a collaboration with South African musician Riky Rick to find the next upcoming local music producer.

Music producers across the country now have the opportunity to compete for a co-sign from Riky Rick. To win, producers must submit their best beat, showcase their skills to a panel of  judges, and compete in a series of elimination rounds.

At the launch of the platform Riky expressed his excitement in being the first artist to usher in new potential into the industry, citing the difficulties for producers to receive adequate opportunities in the music sector.

” I really want make sure that these young guys know that they can achieve the success that they are hungry for. If you want to produce the next hit , you just need to keep working on the music  and I promise you will get it right. It really isn’t that difficult  “said Riky during his live performance at the official launch in Johannesburg.
