Soweto’s Khoi Tech Goes Global

Soweto-based tech company Khoi Tech is making global headlines after joining London Tech Week 2025. The event is one of the world’s leading gatherings of tech leaders and investors.

A special group of mover and shakers in the tech space were chosen to represent South African, with Founder and CEO Seati Moloi representing Khoi Tech and joined fellow by  South African innovators Nivashneee Ramparsad of IoT-focused Smartee and Noleen Ilunga-Muleya, Managing Director of AI integrators and Platform Solutions company XDOY, to showcase the depth and potential of African tech talent on a global stage. Their presence was amplified by a VIP engagement with London Mayor Sadiq Khan, signaling mounting global interest in Africa’s innovation economy.

The South African delegation’s participation was made possible through a collaboration between the British High Commission and South Africa’s Department of Telecommunications and Digital Technologies under its Digitech Programme, a national initiative designed to fast-track local tech firms onto international platforms.

Craig Meyer, Director-General of the Department, hailed the milestone:
“This is what the Digitech programme is all about—creating global opportunities for South African innovators. Khoi Tech, Smartee and XDOY proved that our country has what it takes to compete at the highest level.”

From Soweto to the World: Khoi Tech’s Innovation Edge

Khoi Tech is rapidly emerging as a leader in AI-driven health-tech and consumer electronics. Its flagship products—the Khoi Afriwatch smartwatch and Khoi Afripods True Wireless Earphones—combine smart hardware with a device-powered SaaS health platform, currently being piloted at leading South African hospitals, clinics, and universities.

The platform delivers real-time health monitoring and predictive analytics, aimed at improving health outcomes, enabling early medical interventions, and easing pressure on overstretched public health systems.

“We’re not just building devices; we’re building solutions for underserved communities,” said Moloi. “London Tech Week was a moment of validation—global audiences are ready for African innovation.”

Building Momentum for Africa’s Digital Economy

Alongside Khoi Tech, Smartee and Xdoy underscored the diversity and disruptive potential of South Africa’s startup ecosystem:

  • Smartee is leveraging IoT to create smarter, more connected environments.

What’s Next for Khoi Tech?

Fresh from its international debut, Khoi Tech is pursuing:
