Ford Unveils ‘Building Together’ in SA

Communities across South Africa are set to benefit from a major expansion of Ford’s Building Together initiative, launched this month to tackle food insecurity, education gaps, and disaster relief.

The announcement comes during Global Caring Month, when Ford employees and dealers around the world dedicate their time and resources to service projects. This year, more than 180 volunteer projects are taking place globally, with 31 initiatives in South Africa across Ford’s Silverton and Struandale plants, as well as through its nationwide dealer network.

One of the highlights is the Ford Dealer Food Drive, where dealerships are partnering with local non-profits and food banks to collect non-perishable items. South Africans are invited to drop off donations at participating dealers, helping to fight hunger while joining a global effort led by more than 9,000 Ford dealers worldwide.

“Bringing the full power of Ford means more than financial contributions,” says Neale Hill, President of Ford Motor Company Africa. “It’s about leveraging our employees, our expertise, and our dealer network to show up for communities in good times and bad.”

Ford has a long history of supporting South African communities through programmes in education, mobility, entrepreneurship, and disaster relief. With the Building Together initiative, the company is deepening that legacy by partnering with non-profits to strengthen resilience and create opportunities for future generations.
