South African rider AJ Venter celebrated his 50th Isle of Man TT start while setting a personal best despite weather disruptions.
AJ Venter has completed another successful Isle of Man TT campaign, reaching the significant milestone of 50 race starts and marking a decade of competition at one of the world’s most demanding motorcycle racing events.
Backed by FuturExotics as his exclusive Isle of Man TT partner, Venter competed in a weather-affected 2026 event where rain disrupted seven of the nine available race days and forced organisers to cancel several races.
Despite the challenging conditions, Venter delivered a strong performance on the legendary 37.73-mile Mountain Course. In the RST Superbike TT Race, he finished 22nd overall from a field of 41 starters and recorded a new personal best lap speed of 127.4mph, equivalent to approximately 205km/h average speed.
He also secured a 26th-place finish in the Milwaukee Senior TT, which was declared after one lap following a red flag incident. Both scheduled Superstock races were ultimately cancelled due to the weather.
The results further strengthened Venter’s standing in the history of the event, moving him to 52nd position on the all-time Isle of Man TT rider rankings since the competition began in 1907.
One of the standout achievements of the campaign came from Venter’s support crew, who recorded the fastest pit stop of the RST Superbike TT Race. The team completed the stop in just 46 seconds, significantly quicker than the next fastest team at 58 seconds.
“This year was incredibly challenging for every rider and team,” said Venter. “The weather meant we had to stay ready, focused and patient. We did not get the full race week we prepared for, but to leave with my 50th TT race start and a new personal best is something I am extremely proud of.”
Venter also credited FuturExotics and founder Zunaid Moti for helping strengthen the team’s international campaign through strategic support and sponsorship.
Moti described the achievement as a reflection of South African talent competing successfully on a global stage.
“His 50th TT race start, new personal best and fastest pit stop are all achievements that show the strength of his talent and the calibre of the team around him,” said Moti.
The milestone adds to Venter’s growing legacy in international road racing and reinforces his position as one of South Africa’s most accomplished competitors at the Isle of Man TT.
