Global pop artist Troye Sivan is using his latest creative project to recognise the women and feminine communities that have shaped his identity, creativity and career.
The Grammy-nominated artist has released “She’s the Best”, the title track from his fourth studio album of the same name, which is scheduled for release on 9 October 2026.
The project places women, particularly trans women, alongside drag queens, feminine-presenting people and the broader feminine spirit at the centre of its creative narrative.
Written by Sivan, Leland, George Daniel, Jack Antonoff and Styalz Fuego, the track is described as both a celebration and a love letter to the people who have influenced Sivan’s life, creativity and understanding of himself.
The theme extends across the broader She’s the Best album, which explores identity, belonging, desire, loneliness and self-expression.
“She’s the Best is a painting that captures my life in all of its moods and colours. It explores the high-octane highs of the last few years, and the solitude and longing that sat underneath,” Sivan said.
“It’s chaotic, layered, organic, troubled and alive. It feels like the truest and most creative version of myself I’ve ever shared.”
Sivan said the process of creating the album also prompted him to reflect on the role femininity has played throughout his personal and professional life.
“At some point along the way I realised – the only constant in my life keeping me somewhat sane has not been the work, or the men, but the feminine. Thank god for them,” he said.
That recognition also extends into the visual treatment accompanying the title track.
Sivan reunited with director Gordon von Steiner for the music video following their previous collaborations on “One of Your Girls”, “Got Me Started” and “Rush”.
Inspired by the spirit of 1980s queer New York, the video brings together fashion, glamour and different expressions of femininity, while Australian actor Nicole Kidman makes an appearance in the production.
The release gives the themes and communities Sivan credits with influencing his life visibility through an international platform built over more than a decade.
His catalogue has accumulated more than 15.5 billion global streams, alongside nine Billboard Hot 100 entries, three Grammy nominations, eight ARIA Awards and multiple Platinum and Gold certifications.
Sivan’s 2023 album, Something to Give Each Other, debuted in the Top 5 of the Billboard 200 and reached number one on Billboard’s Dance/Electronic Albums chart, accumulating more than 2.2 billion global streams.
The album produced singles including “Rush”, “One of Your Girls” and “Got Me Started”, before Sivan joined Charli xcx for the SWEAT Tour in 2024.
