ImpactHER has launched a new sustainability programme that will equip African women entrepreneurs with green business skills, mentorship and funding opportunities to accelerate inclusive economic growth.
The initiative forms part of the Global African Women’s Sustainability Conference 2.0, bringing together women business leaders, sustainability experts, investors and development partners to explore how entrepreneurship can drive Africa’s transition to a greener, more resilient economy.
Held under the theme “Rethink. Reinvent. Regenerate: Women Entrepreneurs as Architects of Global Africa’s Sustainable Future,” the programme aims to help women-led businesses adopt sustainable business models while improving their access to finance, markets and international networks.
ImpactHER says women entrepreneurs remain one of Africa’s greatest untapped economic assets, yet many continue to face barriers including limited access to funding, business development support and investment opportunities.
The programme has been designed to bridge those gaps by providing practical training in sustainable entrepreneurship, climate-smart business practices, leadership development and investment readiness.
Participants will also have opportunities to engage with industry experts, corporate leaders and investors while learning how sustainability can become a competitive advantage rather than simply a compliance requirement.
Beyond environmental responsibility, the initiative focuses on helping entrepreneurs build businesses that create employment, strengthen local supply chains and contribute to long-term community development.
ImpactHER believes empowering women-owned businesses is essential to accelerating Africa’s economic transformation and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
The organisation has already supported thousands of women entrepreneurs across Africa through programmes focused on business growth, digital inclusion, export readiness and financial inclusion.
The sustainability programme builds on this work by encouraging entrepreneurs to develop enterprises that generate both economic value and measurable social impact.
As global investors increasingly prioritise Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) performance, women-led businesses that embrace sustainable practices are becoming more attractive investment opportunities and better positioned to compete in international markets.
The programme also seeks to strengthen collaboration between governments, development organisations, private companies and entrepreneurs to unlock new opportunities for innovation, investment and inclusive growth.
By combining entrepreneurship with sustainability, ImpactHER hopes to equip a new generation of African business leaders who can create jobs, strengthen communities and demonstrate that commercial success and social impact can grow together.
Applications for the programme remain open through the Global African Women’s Sustainability Conference platform, with selected entrepreneurs gaining access to mentorship, networking opportunities and business development support designed to help build resilient businesses for Africa’s future.
