Teen Authors Ambassadors for a new authors digital platform

Alkebulan Authors Platform, a digital house focused on the distinctive voice of Africa told through the unique narratives, is set to launch at a glitzy event on the 09th of July at the Hilton Hotel. In addition, the platform announced its two ambassadors today, 14-year-old Author BhasweLihle Zilwa and 18-year-old Author Masindi Managa. BhasweLihle released her book titled Lihle’s Motivational Quotes for Teens earlier this year, while Masindi Managa launched her book titled Ardour last year.

On being appointed as the ambassador, BhasweLihle said, “As teens, we are often just ignored, with our voices not even heard. I am happy to be part of this great initiative. It is a space for me to voice out many issues young authors like me face and, most importantly, celebrate and highlight authors across the continent.” Masindi Managa hopes for a wider reach, “The future is digital; it makes sense for authors like myself to have conversations in that space while also connecting with like-minded authors from across the continent.”

The platform aims to create a growing continental literacy forum that will empower African authors and ensure they benefit financially from their craft and skill, making creative writing a viable developmental industry.
