New tracksuits will ensure learners enjoy a warmer winter

In celebration of Mandela Day, 400 learners at Stinkhoutboom Primary School, in Zeerust, received warm school tracksuits. Sponsored by Zeerust Solar, as part of its Hearts and Minds Winter Drive programme, this support will help combat the biting cold of winter and help reduce absenteeism from school.

The handover event, which took place on 18 July 2022, was hosted at Stinkhoutboom Primary School in partnership with the Department of Education, Ikageng Community Trust, and the Ramotshere Moiloa Local Municipality. Among the attendees were the local councillor, the Department of Health, and representatives from Zeerust Solar.

“Keeping children in school, especially those from the poorest backgrounds, can be made easier by providing school uniforms. In order to achieve enduring impacts, however, we encourage schools to provide the best possible education,” said Tshepo Kgoloane, Community Operations Manager for Zeerust Solar.

Furthermore, a local service provider was appointed to produce and procure the tracksuits, thus contributing to the stimulation of local businesses in the area.
