The inaugural MaxiRace Interschools Trail Running Championships will be taking place at the K-Way MaxiRace Cape Winelands presented by Banhoek Chilli Oil in association with Yenn Health and On Shoes on Sunday 02 October 2022.
“We strongly believe in growing the sport of trail running amongst the youth, especially as South Africa has a well-established history of producing some of the best trail runners in the world,” says race director, Andri Stander. “Last year we had many youngsters in our shorter routes who all asked to please do something specifically for the school kids, so here we are!”
The race, which will take place at the Maxi Vagabond Race Village at Hoërskool Stellenbosch on Sunday on 2 October 2022 as part of the annual MaxiRace Cape Winelands event, will be 7km route with 5 different categories that the runners can choose from.
The runners will be placed in either the Senior (u19) or Junior (u15) age categories and will be able to run as either:
Girls’ Team of 4
Boys’Team of 4
Mixed Team of 4 (2 Boys, 2 Girls)
Solo Girls
Solo Boys
