The U.S. Embassy in Ukraine wrote this on its Facebook page, Ukrinform reports.
“To support Ukraine’s national response, USAID is helping prepare for Pfizer and other approved vaccines by providing direct support for ultra-cold chain storage/transportation and supporting public communications efforts to provide accurate information about vaccines,” reads the report.
According to the embassy, USAID is working on a contract with a logistics service provider to fulfill a request from the Ukrainian government. It is noted that this concerns the delivery of more than 100,000 doses of the vaccine.
As reported, on April 6, President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Ukraine signed an agreement with the American pharmaceutical corporation Pfizer for the supply of 10 million doses of coronavirus vaccine.
In turn, Minister of Health Maksym Stepanov later announced that the first batches under this contract would start arriving in the coming months and all 10 million doses would be delivered over the course of 2021.
