This May is Hunger Month at Food Lover’s stores

During May, Food Lover’s Market is asking shoppers to support its Hunger Month campaign as it aims to raise enough money to provide one million meals to vulnerable South Africans. The campaign, now in its second year, is being run in partnership with Tru-Cape Fruit Marketing, Simpl. Juice and Rugani, and implemented through FoodForward SA.
By purchasing selected products in store between 1-28 May 2018, shoppers will contribute the required R0,79 FoodForward SA needs to provide one hungry South African with a meal.
“More than 14-million vulnerable people go hungry each day in South Africa, indicating that food insecurity is a real problem faced by a significant portion of our population. With the help of Food Lover’s Market, their generous partners and shoppers, we can help address this problem with the funds raised through the World Hunger Day campaign,” says Andy du Plessis, managing director of FoodForward SA.In addition to the month-long in store campaign, Food Lover’s Market will be donating 1% of its overall sales on 28 May 2018 towards the Hunger Month initiative.
