Support a student: Sponsors needed for UJ food parcel scheme

Imagine trying to study and putting in long hours in the library on an empty stomach.

That’s the reality for thousands of university students in South Africa.

But a student organisation at the University of Johannesburg’s APK campus is giving a helping hand to disadvantaged students.

‘Remember And Give’ helps meet students basic needs by providing food parcels to fellow scholars.

RAG APK chairperson Bongani Senne says they rely on sponsors to meet their monthly targets.

In a monthly basis we help more than 800 students. It’s so sad because sometimes the sponsorship’s we get are not enough for those students.

You find that other students are unable to receive such food parcels.
