Mc Donald’s makes an appreciation to SA’s first responders.

Mc Donalds SA is giving  out food to the first responders of the coronavirus as an appreciation on behalf of the country.

After the Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) announced their official shut down following the President’s address on the 21 day lockdown, Mc Donald’s decided to donate food as a thank you gesture to first responders of the country who are in the front line of the war against the pandemic.

Food was therefore delivered to a number of first responders and NGO’s including the SOS children’s (Western Cape) Village and SANDF. Soldiers and police in Pretoria and Johannesburg were also counted in this gesture.

Paying respect to the president of the country, all 303 restaurants were closed around the country so as to keep the social distance that was highly emphasised by the address of the president. However, with understanding that people might fail to keep the distance as they come for food, the QSR adhered to the orders and regulations put up by the President.

“As we temporary closed our restaurants, we wanted to express our appreciation for all those working tirelessly in the frontline of this pandemic,” said Daniel, Chief marketing and communications officer of Mc Donald’s SA.
