Disability Summit links young job-seekers with potential employers

The second annual Disability Summit and Careers Expo will be held at the Nasrec Expo Centre Johannesburg on the 11th & 12th April 2019. This summit was founded by Mandeville Disability Swimming and Hope School continues to link young job-seekers to potential employers and to showcase the successes of entrepreneurs with disabilities.

The event will feature a dedicated exhibition of corporates showcasing possible employment opportunities and choices for school leavers, graduates and unemployed youth living with disabilities.

Various organisations will engage the audience with practical demonstrations that enact everyday workplace scenarios to attract new entrants. These include but are not limited to the Sci-Bono robotics and science teams, WalkFresh, Jumping Kids and some of the country’s top Universities.

“We truly believe that when people are engaged in suitable careers everyone merges together, colleagues respect colleagues and differences become immaterial and can even go unnoticed. We know from experience that people living with disabilities can perform exceptionally in the workplace and we feel privileged to play a small role in getting them started inappropriate career opportunities.”, says Paddy Slattery, the founder of Mandeville Disability Swimming.
