Artist remembers Jairos Jiri home.

A 23 year old university student has poured out her heart to Jairos Jiri old people’s home by donating food and clothes to these less privileged.

Midlands State University (MSU) student Gaudencia Shumba an evangelist and upcoming gospel artist has made an echoing donation to Jairos Jiri old peoples home. Shumba says she realised the need to cater for these people as they had been in an economically and socially forgotten place.

The multi-talented lady heard of this home and decided to adopt it. After saving money from her gospel shows, Shumba surprised the home by showering them with food, clothes and other unspecified necessities they needed. She says she could feel her heart bleed as she saw 16 old people who were disabled, blind, deaf and dumb. “It is sad and pathetic how the people survive without anyone coming to their aid,” she said.

The Kwekwe resident is part of the youth that has let her heart be cultivated at a tender age for giving. She grew up as a person who could give even what she cherished the most thus making the donation elated her. She goes on to challenge everyone by stating that one doesn’t have to be rich in order to give, it just comes from a willing heart that wishes to serve.
