The South African Freight Awards: Rewarding Excellence in Freight

Ahead of Transport Month in October, the hosting of the first Annual Freight Awards has been announced.

Grow Supplier ZA, in partnership with the Truckers Association of South Africa (TASA), will be hosting the Freight Awards. The awards will highlight the achievements and contributions of various institutions and individuals that have navigated the pandemic to deliver value to their stakeholders during extraordinary times and have over the years contributed to the development and growth of the road freight industry in South Africa.

The awards are supported by the Department of Transport, Sun International, the Cross-Border Road Transport Agency, MLM Logistics, Mamoja Project and Trading, Transport Retirement Fund and JC Auditors, amongst others. These institutions continue to be committed to real transformation in the road freight industry and being the voice of emerging freight transport players. As the flagship recognition platform, the awards play an important role in celebrating success and excellence in transformation, as they are designed to:

Assist in the continuous quality improvement of emerging and qualifying enterprises and suppliers, enabling them to build businesses that last.
Foster collaboration in support of the growth of empowering black entrepreneurs through a curated ecosystem platform that enables public and private stakeholders to exchange knowledge and best practice in investing in these SMEs.
Commenting on the launch of the Awards, TASA founder Mary Phadi said: “As TASA we have chosen to be part of the awards because we are committed to the transformation of the transport industry. We promote unity and co-operation among all men and women – including youth and people with disabilities – in the road freight industry.”

The details of the awards are as follows:
