Sungura masters to perform at the Credisi concert.

Zimbabwe’s sungura masters are set to get back on stage following the national lockdown due to the coronavirus pandemic outbreak.

Excitement has got over the dance kingpins and queens of sungura as they  have been asked to perform at the Creative Diversity and Social Inclusion (Credisi) concert after three months of not setting foot on stage.

The local group . earlier this year, shifted from Entumbane to the capital Zimbabwe in search of greener pastures. The pandemic came as a disappointment to the group as it shut down their dreams for stardom.

The group leader Masotha Nzou said the group was grateful to be included in the Iyasa initiative as they were being affected by not being able to perform over the past 3 months.

“This will be our first time performing since the lockdown started and we’re happy and emotional at the same time. Just the thought of not knowing when we’ll we be on stage again was devastating,” commented Nzou.
