Sneakerness makes its African debut

Global sneaker event, Sneakerness, is coming to Africa for the first time. The event series, which has become known as the most important one on the European sneaker and footwear scene, will be coming to Johannesburg from 09-12 November 2017.

Sneakerness already has a global following with must-attend events taking place in Berlin, Cologne, Amsterdam, Paris, Moscow, Warsaw and Zurich.

Top-notch international brands and major sneaker stores, as well as private sellers and collectors from all over the world come together to buy, sell and swap footwear and street fashion, from classic and real rarities, to the newest trends in street culture. Alongside the finest sneaker vendors, visitors will experience (street)art, graffiti, music, as well as good food and drinks.

Sneaker and streetwear fans are invited to a “Sneak Peek” preview event in October in Johannesburg, where a pop-up event will bring a taster of Sneakerness to Johannesburg in anticipation of the main event later this year.

The preview event will include product launches and merchandise from Sneakerness and Patta; workshops, masterclasses and talks from Sneakerness and Patta; and culminates on the Sunday with a BBQ and the Patta Soundsystem. Each night will be open to 100 guests only, and will feature appearances from local DJ’s.

The main Sneakerness convention in November will offer even more limited edition merchandise, as well as a series of workshops, launches and talks from the world’s best footwear and streetwear brands. A consumer competition will also see streetwear fans being able to enter for a chance to win a trip to Sneakerness Berlin in 2018. More details will be released closer to the event date.
