MTN Walk the Talk brings people together for a good cause

The annual MTN Walk the Talk with 702 saw almost 50 000 people, and thousands of pets, step it up in the streets of Joburg.

The gathering was met with widespread celebration, and promotion of community causes, as walkers conquered the 15km, 8km, and 5km routes with gusto and excitement.

The 15km route jumpstarted the event, as walkers paced their way around some of the city’s most iconic monuments, and infrastructure including the Nelson Mandela Bridge.

While MTN Walk the Talk with 702 is not a race, organisers pay tribute to the first 15km athletes over the line.

Despite the cold, hordes of people banded together in colourful costumes to showcase their support for a worthwhile cause, in an undeniable act of unity and compassion.

Marks Park transformed into an electric vibe as walkers were treated to the sweet sounds of some of the country’s hottest artists – Shekhinah and Lady Zamar.

702’s very own Soulful Sunday DJ Kenny Maistry kept the crowd going, with jams that had everyone tapping their feet, as they crossed the finish line.
