CHEP recognised as a Top Employer 2021 in South Africa

For the fourth consecutive year, CHEP, the global supply chain solutions company, has been certified as a 2021 Top Employer in South Africa by the Top Employers Institute (TEI), a global certifier recognising excellence in employee practices. Being certified as a Top Employer showcases an organisation’s dedication to a better world of work and exhibits this through excellent HR policies and people practices.

Newly appointed HR Director for CHEP Sub Saharan Africa (SSA), Tebogo Monakedi, says “We are immensely proud to have achieved this recognition again from Top Employer. At CHEP, we recognise that our most valuable assets are our people and it is our mission to ensure the overall well-being, diversity and development of all of our staff.”

Hermann Haupt, Vice President at CHEP SSA continues “We recognise that engaging and enabling our employees to make them proud of what they do is not only key to our success, but also key to the success of our customers and shareholders. We thank all our employees for their significant efforts and engagement in building CHEP into the organisation it is today.”

The Top Employers Institute programme certifies organisations based on the participation and results of their HR Best Practices Survey. This survey covers 6 HR domains consisting of 20 topics such as People Strategy, Work Environment, Talent Acquisition, Learning, Well-being and Diversity & Inclusion and more.

Top Employers Institute CEO David Plink says: “Despite the challenging year we have experienced (which has certainly made an impact on organisations around the globe), CHEP has continued to demonstrate the power of putting their people first in the workplace. We are proud to share this year’s announcement and congratulate the organisations who have been certified in their respective countries through the Top Employers Institute programme.”

The programme has certified and recognised more than 1 600 Top Employers in 120 countries/regions across five continents. CHEP has been recognised as a Top Employer in various countries including India, Europe, Saudi Arabia, Swaziland, Namibia and Zimbabwe.
