Telkom partners with four provinces to shine a spotlight on the Top performing Matriculant class of 2021

As part of its contribution to the transformation of disadvantaged communities through sustainable development programs, Telkom is proud to announce its partnership with four provinces to reward and recognise the top-performing matriculants class of 2021.

Through its Foundation, and supported by Huawei Technologies, the partnership will see Telkom donate 20 routers with Wi-Fi connection for 6 months, 2 notebook computers and a R10 000.00 bursary to some of the top performers in the provinces of Gauteng, Limpopo, Eastern Cape, and KwaZulu Natal to the value of R 400 000.00.

“We are proud of the matric class of 2021 and we continue to contribute to issues of national importance, especially in the education space. This donation is aimed at assisting the learners to kick start and access tertiary education and in-turn inspire future matriculants”, says Sarah Mthintso, Head of Telkom Foundation.

Telkom was voted the coolest telecoms brand this affirms how popular the brand and products are amongst the youth segments, and continues to invest in the youth of South Africa.

Ms Mthintso continues to say that, “In addition we will be donating R10 000 to the top learner in the country to contribute to their further studies and to reward them for their hard work.”

The Telkom Foundation, established in 1998, aims to develop youth resilience through innovation and digital transformation in education. The Foundation’s mission is to help learners by cultivating their unique potential and grant them an opportunity to study further.
