Networks Unlimited Africa donates new laptops to Literacy for Life

Networks Unlimited Africa, a value-added distributor within the converged technology, data centre, networking and security landscapes, has donated seven new HP laptops to Literacy for Life, thereby once again showing its commitment to education in South Africa’s poorer communities.

Literacy for Life is a non-profit organisation which was established in November 2014 to help cash-strapped schools achieve their educational goals for the children in their care.

Anton Jacobsz, CEO at Networks Unlimited Africa, says, “As an IT company, it is important to us to enable both learners and educators by giving them access to technology, which is increasingly becoming a part of the holistic learning environment. The donation of laptops to this worthy non-profit organisation recognises the importance of enabling technology access within an educational arena.

“Funding for many government schools remains a challenge, and even more so for South Africa’s underprivileged schools. In many instances, teachers are taking it upon themselves to spend their own money on aids or tools to assist children to be able to learn to read or write, or experience the opportunity to express themselves through art. We are proud to know that this donation from us – which will not be the last – will help with benefiting vulnerable children and those who assist them.”
