Justice For All Congratulates Dr. Naledi Pandor on Her Appointment as Chairperson of the Nelson Mandela Foundation

Justice For All is proud to congratulate Dr. Naledi Pandor on her appointment as the new Chairperson of the Nelson Mandela Foundation, following the retirement of Professor Njabulo Ndebele. Dr. Pandor, who has served as a prominent voice for human rights throughout her career, will officially assume her new role on October 1, 2024. This marks a significant moment in the foundation’s leadership, as she becomes only the third chairperson since its establishment in 1999.

On September 14, 2024, Justice For All had the distinct honor of recognizing Dr. Pandor’s contributions to global human rights with the Justice For All Award at a special ceremony in Chicago. Her acceptance speech that evening left a lasting impact on the nearly 700 attendees. Speaking about the nature of struggle, she powerfully stated, “A struggle is not a careless thing that happens in the street. It has to be crafted. It has to be thought through. It has to be prepared for.” These words reflect her lifetime of dedicated service to the fight for justice, including her steadfast support for Palestinian liberation.

“As an anti-genocide organization with a 30-year history of advocacy for marginalized communities, we are confident that Dr. Pandor will bring transformative leadership to the Nelson Mandela Foundation, much like she has done throughout her distinguished career,” stated Imam Abdul Malik Mujahid President of Justice For All.

Dr. Pandor’s legacy of leadership and advocacy, particularly during her time as South Africa’s Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, aligns seamlessly with the mission of the Nelson Mandela Foundation. In her new role, she will continue to carry forward the work of promoting social justice and equality, as she noted: “Mobilizing Madiba’s legacy becomes more important than ever.”

Justice For All, the largest Muslim-led human rights organization in the world, is proud to have honored Dr. Pandor for her relentless pursuit of justice.
