GROW Leadership Academy is giving back with the gift of education

The GROW Leadership Academy, also known as “GLA”, is ideal for young people aged between 18 – 25 years old. This academy is looking for young individuals who are passionate about making a difference in their community.

Since their inception, roughly 600 young people from Cape Town, Johannesburg and Tanzania, have graduated. The programme is managed by RLabs, an award-winning South African nonprofit organisation that was established in 2008 at Bridgetown, Cape Town.

Spokesperson for RLabs, Adrienne Fredericks says that this year, they are offering quite a few foundation phase courses in leadership, entrepreneurship and digital.

We believe that everybody is a leader in a different way.

— Adrienne Fredericks, Spokesperson for RLabs

Fredericks says that they know a lot of students who are always looking for somewhere to go.

This is where you are going to find out what you want to do, and how to do it best.

— Adrienne Fredericks, Spokesperson for RLabs

The main aim of RLabs is to create systems and environments where people can be impacted, empowered and transformed through hope, technology, innovation, training and economic opportunities.

RLabs has since expanded to 23 countries across 5 continents, impacting more than 8.5 million people through its work.
