SAHETI Matric Class of 2025 Excels

SAHETI School in Senderwood, Gauteng, is celebrating another year of outstanding academic achievement after its Class of 2025 delivered its best results to date, reinforcing the school’s proud legacy of excellence.

All 71 matriculants achieved a 100% pass rate, maintaining SAHETI’s unbroken record. The class amassed an impressive 233 distinctions, averaging 3.3 distinctions per learner, with results reflecting both consistency and academic depth across subjects.

Nearly 92% of the matric class achieved one or more distinctions, while 30% attained a distinction average, with several learners recording averages of 90% and above. In addition, 24% of the class ranked within the Top 1% nationally across various subjects.

Six learners achieved a full house of distinctions, with a further eleven candidates securing six distinctions each. Demonstrating academic ambition, 46% of the class sat for Modern Greek as an eighth subject, highlighting the school’s commitment to intellectual enrichment.

Standout learner Maria Lazanakis was recognised as an IEB Outstanding Achiever, ranking within the top 5% nationally in six or more subjects and achieving a Level 7 in Life Orientation. She earned nine distinctions, seven above 90%, and ranked Top 1% nationally for English out of 15,188 candidates, finishing with a 90% average.

Chrisovalandis Coundouris received the IEB Commendable Achiever award, ranking in the top 5% nationally in five subjects, alongside a Level 7 in Life Orientation. He achieved nine distinctions, eight above 90%, ranked Top 1% nationally for both English and Life Orientation, and secured an exceptional 92% average.

Additional full-house distinction performances were achieved by Anthea Boutselis, who earned nine distinctions, ranked Top 1% nationally for English and achieved an 87% average; Eleni Kruger, who obtained eight distinctions, ranked Top 1% nationally for Life Orientation and achieved an 89% average; Daniel Tsoukalas, who secured seven distinctions, ranked Top 1% nationally for Life Orientation and achieved an 87% average; and Katerina Malemas, who achieved seven distinctions with an 80% average. Many of these results included multiple distinctions in the 90% band.

Beyond academic success, SAHETI School continues to focus on developing pupils who can analyse, evaluate and synthesise information, skills that extend well beyond national examinations.

Executive Head Morag Rees praised the class, saying she is proud of the Class of 2025 for their excellent results, strong work ethic, resilience and commitment to growth, noting that these qualities will serve them well beyond school.

Dean of Matrics Dr Daniela Pitt added that behind every distinction stands a committed partnership between teachers, families and disciplined students, and that the results reflect SAHETI’s belief that excellence is not discovered by chance, but forged through vision, consistency and care.
