SOS Children’s Village receives 250kg of handmade Easter chocolate

The team at Callebaut Chocolate Academy South Africa made 250 kilograms of chocolate easter treats worth R43 000 especially for the SOS Children’s Villages. Using their best quality Belgium chocolate, the Callebaut team made 2100 mini easter eggs, 2000 chocolate slabs, 268 filled easter eggs, and 50 bunnies. Jacaranda FM’s Good Morning Angels partnered with the Academy to distribute these Easter spoils to five SOS Children’s Villages across South Africa.

 “You can never care enough and you can never spread too much kindness! Whilst we spend Easter in the loving embrace of our families – we wanted to remind the special children at SOS Children’s Village that they are so loved and seen.” – Martin Bester, Jacaranda FM Breakfast Drive Presenter

 About SOS Children’s Village

The first SOS Children’s Village was built in Ennerdale in 1984. The Village comprises 15 homes, where children live with their house mothers in a family setting. The children are placed in the care of the home when they are without adequate parental care or at risk of losing it, who are living in vulnerable circumstances.

We believe every child belongs in a family and should grow up with love, respect and security. We provide care through our family-like villages, our family strengthening programmes and our community service centres. We build families for children in need, we help them shape their own futures, and we share in the development of their communities”.

 The SOS Children’s Villages South Africa have grown to 11 programmes in 8 provinces around South Africa.

 RECIPIENTS: The children of the SOS Children’s Villages in;

  • Ennerdale
  • Mamelodi
  • Rustenburg
  • Mbombela
  • Limpopo
