Real Madrid & GAC Motor Champion “Real Change”

GAC Motor South Africa has taken its social investment strategy beyond corporate slogans, backing its “Real Change” campaign with a tangible commitment to youth development through sport and education. Partnering with Generation Schools and the Real Madrid Foundation, the company has announced full sponsorship for nine-year-old football prodigy, Tyler Swarts — a move that blends athletic talent development with social impact.

Swarts, a learner in the Real Madrid Foundation Educational Football Programme in partnership with Generation Schools, represents the model of discipline and perseverance that the initiative aims to cultivate. His story highlights how corporate partnerships can directly empower young South Africans by providing access to quality education, structured mentorship, and world-class sports training.

GAC’s sponsorship covers housing, education, nutrition, and entry into the Foundation’s skills-development programme — a comprehensive support package intended to give Tyler a strong foundation both on and off the field. According to Bianca Naude, Public Relations Manager at GAC South Africa, the initiative demonstrates the brand’s intent to drive meaningful transformation rather than symbolic gestures. “This is not just about football,” she said. “It’s about opening doors, building futures, and proving that age is no barrier to greatness.”

The Real Madrid Foundation’s South African programme, run in collaboration with Generation Schools, integrates academic learning with the football club’s globally respected training methodology. The partnership, which currently reaches over 140 children in Cape Town and Johannesburg, focuses on nurturing discipline, teamwork, and emotional intelligence alongside sporting excellence.

Generation Schools CEO and Real Madrid Foundation South Africa head, Jevron Epstein, said Tyler’s story exemplifies the programme’s mission. “He represents the best of what South Africa’s next generation can be — disciplined, humble, and hungry to grow,” Epstein explained. “When brands like GAC invest in these young athletes, it shows that sport has the power to unlock leadership, resilience, and hope.”

For Tyler, the opportunity is both a challenge and a dream realised. He says he wants to work hard and make his family proud, understanding that the journey ahead demands consistency and focus. His selection is a reminder of how structured programmes — when backed by genuine corporate commitment — can shift the trajectory of young lives.

Through this partnership, GAC Motor is positioning itself as more than an automotive brand. It is investing in the development of future leaders, linking sport with education and purpose. In a country where many young talents are lost to economic barriers, Tyler Swarts’s journey is proof that sustained investment and collaboration can turn potential into progress.

At its core, the GAC–Real Madrid Foundation partnership is a statement about what “Real Change” looks like when corporations choose to act — not just talk.
