The ISUZU Foundation, a partnership between Isuzu Motors South Africa and its Dealer Network, has rallied behind children’s charities in Mossel Bay, raising R 390,000 through the incredible participation of athletes across various ISUZU IRONMAN events.
Building on a partnership that began in 2022, this collaborative initiative continues to transform premier sporting events into a force for meaningful change, delivering crucial financial support to organisations that provide shelter, education, and healthcare for vulnerable children.
The funds will be distributed among Mossel Bay beneficiary organisations: Eden Protocol Foundation, Creating Effective Families, Denneprag Primary School and ETHAN. Supporting underprivileged youth through nutrition-rich meals, education & training programmes for children with autism, safe shelters and developmental opportunities.
This latest effort brings the total donated by the ISUZU Foundation to the IRONMAN4theKidz Charity Trust to over R1.6 million since inception — a testament to a sustained mission of upliftment.
“For the ISUZU Foundation, our partnership with IRONMAN4TheKidz is more than a sponsorship; it is a shared commitment to shaping a brighter future for the next generation,” said Alastair Hodgson, Department Executive: Business Enablement at Isuzu Motors South Africa. “Led by our Dealer, CP Nel Motors, working together with our athletes and partners, we are using this platform not just to host a world-class event, but to drive lasting change, standing alongside the charities that are doing the vital work of care and upliftment in our community.”
“We are immensely grateful for the continued support from the ISUZU Foundation and the incredible athletes who race with purpose,” said a representative from IRONMAN4TheKidz. “These funds are a lifeline, enabling us to provide critical support where it’s needed most. It’s a powerful reminder of how sport can be a catalyst for good, and we thank ISUZU for helping us share this spirit of hope and resilience.”
The success of the initiative was powered by the collective participation of these 2,600 athletes, whose endurance and contributions translated directly into opportunity.
The ISUZU IRONMAN Triathlon series, a premier sporting event in Mossel Bay, continues to serve as a platform where athletic excellence and community spirit converge to create a profound and positive impact.
