Isuzu announced as title sponsor of Bulls Daisies

In a significant step for women’s sport, Isuzu has been announced as the new title sponsor of the Bulls Daisies, strengthening the team’s position as a leading force in South African women’s rugby. The team will now officially compete as the ISUZU Bulls Daisies.

The sponsorship marks a major milestone in the growth of the women’s game, bringing vital financial backing and increased visibility to a side that has rapidly become a standout in domestic rugby. It also reinforces Isuzu’s growing involvement in sport, with a particular focus on supporting women athletes.

“This is yet another remarkable feat for our team,” said Thando Manana, Executive for Women’s Rugby and Strategic Projects at the Blue Bulls Company. “It’s a financial injection that helps us elevate our high-performance product and build a stronger ecosystem for national rugby.”

Isuzu’s sponsorship includes comprehensive branding rights, with its logo now appearing on the Daisies’ match kits, training gear, and off-field apparel. But the company says the partnership goes beyond visibility.

“We’ve been with the Daisies since their inception,” said Ziphindiwe Ngcobo, Isuzu’s Department Executive for Marketing. “This sponsorship reflects our values and our ongoing commitment to women in sport. We want to be a real partner, not just a name on a shirt.”

The agreement will also see Isuzu supporting community outreach and youth development initiatives tied to the team. One of the first events under the new partnership will be the rebranded ISUZU Bulls Daisies Women’s Day celebration in August.

Blue Bulls Company CEO Edgar Rathbone welcomed the extended relationship, saying Isuzu’s backing reinforces the message that women athletes are “South African heroes” and deserve the same opportunities and recognition as their male counterparts.

The partnership comes at a time when women’s rugby is experiencing rapid growth, with increased attention from fans, sponsors, and media. For the Bulls Daisies, the Isuzu deal is another step forward on a path that’s reshaping the future of the sport.
