Three young cyclists from Burgersfort, Limpopo, have pedalled their way into the nation’s heart. Known as the GAUTA BMX team, the trio recently completed a 1,700 km journey to Cape Town to raise awareness for youth upliftment and community development in their hometown — and their inspiring effort has now received a boost from Farmhouse by Dairymaid.
In recognition of their remarkable achievement, Farmhouse by Dairymaid donated R20,000 to support the team’s ongoing initiatives, which include running a local bike club aimed at empowering young people through sport. As an added surprise, the brand also gifted the boys a year’s supply of ice cream.
“This was more than a donation — it was a celebration of determination, grit, and the spirit of South African youth,” said Manyathe Ramotsepe, Senior Brand Manager at Dairymaid. “We’re honoured to stand behind these young changemakers and look forward to seeing how their journey continues to inspire others.”
The GAUTA BMX team’s ride not only highlighted the power of youth-driven change but also reminded South Africans of the resilience and hope that exists in local communities. Their story is one of courage, vision, and the extraordinary impact of believing in something bigger than oneself.
As the boys continue their journey — both on and off the bike — their message is clear: when young people are given the tools and encouragement to dream big, they can go the distance.
