AI Creatives Redefine Design Excellence

Global creative leaders have been appointed to judge a new free AI design category, spotlighting innovation, human creativity, and ethical generative craft at the ADC 105th Annual Awards.

The One Club for Creativity has announced the inaugural jury for the new ADC AI Visual Design–Dreamina AI category, marking a significant moment in how artificial intelligence is recognised within global creative standards.

The free-to-enter category forms part of the prestigious Art Directors Club 105th Annual Awards and is dedicated to honouring creators who use AI as a creative partner rather than a purely technical tool.

The initiative is delivered in partnership with Dreamina AI, part of ByteDance, and focuses on expanding the boundaries of visual expression while maintaining strong conceptual and craft foundations.

Jurors span six countries and include globally respected creative leaders, designers, technologists and founders, reflecting the category’s emphasis on intentionality, cultural relevance and human judgment.

Kevin Swanepoel, CEO of The One Club for Creativity, said jury selection prioritised credibility over novelty. He noted that AI-assisted work should be judged by the same rigorous standards that have defined great design for more than a century.

The category invites entries responding to the brief “Imperfection,” encouraging creators to embrace messiness, contradiction and lived experience as a source of stronger creative outcomes.

Winners will receive ADC Cubes and share cash prizes totaling $30,000, reinforcing the organisation’s commitment to supporting emerging creative practices and rewarding innovation responsibly.

With free entry and global participation, the new category positions AI-driven creativity as a growing force within the creative economy, while keeping human insight, ethics and artistic intent firmly at the centre.
