TikTok Strengthens Platform Safety Efforts

TikTok has released its latest trust and safety report, outlining continued improvements to content moderation, platform integrity and user protection through a combination of technology and human oversight.

According to the report, the platform recorded its highest-ever rate of violative content removed by automated technologies at 91%, alongside a proactive removal rate of 99.3%, meaning most harmful content was taken down before being reported by users. TikTok also reported that 94.8% of violative content was removed within 24 hours.

The company said ongoing investments in safety technologies and moderation systems are helping reduce the likelihood of harmful content being seen, while allowing safety teams to focus on complex areas such as appeals, external consultations and fast-moving events.

TikTok also refined its automated models for reviewing comments to better align with updated Community Guidelines. The changes allow moderators to take broader action against inappropriate content, from limiting visibility to removal, contributing to improved protection for users while supporting free expression.

Beyond content moderation, the report highlights continued efforts to combat spam, fake engagement and coordinated inauthentic activity. TikTok said it remains focused on identifying and removing accounts and content that artificially boost popularity or disrupt platform integrity.

The platform also strengthened enforcement around advertising, reporting increased removals of ads that violated its policies during the third quarter of 2025. The company attributed this to stronger account-level enforcement and ongoing improvements in detection systems.

TikTok said it remains committed to transparency, accountability and strengthening trust across its global community as it continues to refine its safety and moderation strategies.
