Jesse Clegg Headlines Touching Dreams

Touching Dreams will bring together hospitality leaders, entertainers and supporters at its annual fundraising gala, helping three organisations transform lives through education, conservation and hope.

The fourth annual Touching Dreams Gala Dinner will take place at Emperors Palace in Johannesburg on 31 July, with all proceeds supporting Reach For A Dream, the Endangered Wildlife Trust and the Touching Dreams Think Big Academy.

Returning as the headline performer is Jesse Clegg, joined by performances from the Wits Performing Arts Department and Moving into Dance. Radio producer and DJ Kyle Cassim will once again host the evening.

Now in its fourth year, the gala has become one of the hospitality industry’s flagship social impact events, bringing together businesses and individuals committed to investing in South Africa’s communities and natural environment.

Chris Godenir, Touching Dreams ambassador and General Manager of the Peninsula All Suite Hotel, said the event reflects the organisation’s commitment to creating lasting impact.

“Touching Dreams was established to create positive change, hope and lasting memories for South Africa’s youth, while safeguarding the environment for future generations. The three beneficiaries of this year’s Gala Dinner embody this vision.”

The Endangered Wildlife Trust partnership supports the protection of birds of prey and biodiversity conservation. Through Reach For A Dream, children living with life-threatening illnesses receive once-in-a-lifetime experiences, accommodation and travel support. The Think Big Academy equips young people from disadvantaged communities with practical hospitality skills and recognised qualifications to improve their employment prospects.

This year’s Greek and Roman Oracles theme, inspired by Emperors Palace, invites guests to dress in Roman-inspired attire or traditional black tie.

Ticket sales will directly support all three beneficiary organisations, with prices set at R2 000 for a single ticket, R3 500 per couple and R15 000 for a table of ten.

Wyndham Hotels & Resorts returns as the headline sponsor, joined by partners from across the hospitality and tourism sector, reinforcing the industry’s growing commitment to creating positive social and environmental impact.
