South Africa’s first App lets consumers check price of meds

South African consumers can now look up the recommended selling price of medicines, all with the help of  brand new app. A year ago, Michael Lukusa, Software Developer designed MediPrice which enables individuals to look for medicine prices in a fast, effective and convenient way. It also includes medicine ingredients as well as information for your closest pharmacy.

Lukusa believes his app provides consumers with the perfect means to be able to guard against any potential price gouging during this pandemic.”Through the search, you can be able to make ingredients-based search, where you’ll find the active ingredient in the medicine. From there, doctors can give medicine at an affordable price. Finding generic medicine and giving them to people”, he said.
