Rising Star Tennis transforms the sport through the youth

BNP Paribas together with RCS are collaborating with Tennis South Africa (TSA) and have launched the Rising Star Tennis initiative. This initiative seeks to transform tennis in South Africa, from a grassroots level and encourage more youth to participate in the sport.

The country-wide initiative is a national primary school’s tennis challenge that was launched at Arthur Ashe in Soweto. Schools in historically disadvantaged communities are among the primary schools included in the programme.

Kevin Anderson, a South African tennis star, and the brand ambassador of the programme said, “I have always been extremely passionate about giving back to the game at home, and I strongly believe developing future South African tennis stars needs to begin with a grassroots revolution”.

The Rising Star Tennis programme started in August and will run until March 2020. This initiative seeks to increase the profile and legacy of tennis in South Africa
